Contact Union County Records

Union County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Questions about a person or record must go to the government office that created or holds it.

Where Union County Records Live

The Union County Sheriff's Office is the main routing point for county custody and booking questions. Its public pages do not identify a separate booking-photo records line or a fixed records-office schedule. Call first if an online result is missing, and use the county's published request process for an existing record.

North Carolina G.S. 132-1 is the starting point for public-record questions, but it does not mean every booking photograph or investigative file must be released. Ask for an existing, specific record and request an explanation if material is withheld. County requests are handled as promptly as possible and in first-come-first-served order. Complex work can take longer. More than four collective staff hours may lead to a $40 hourly special-service charge for excess time, plus actual copying or production costs. An estimate or advance payment may apply, and no booking-photo fee or guaranteed turnaround is published.

Use the following routes for the most common Union County questions:

  • For a current county custody entry, use UCSO Inmate Inquiry. For a dated event, use the Daily Bulletin.
  • For an older event, case number, or incident, try UCSO Arrest/Incident Search before filing a focused request.
  • For a Monroe Police incident, arrest, or accident report, contact Police Records at 450 W Crowell Street, Monroe, NC 28112, 704-282-4728. The published in-person hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • For a Waxhaw police-side record, use 3620 Providence Road South, Waxhaw, NC 28173, 704-843-0353, or police@waxhaw.com. The reviewed page does not publish a booking-photo form, fee, or response time.
  • Indian Trail uses the sheriff contract model. The Indian Trail Bureau is at 130 Blythe Drive, Indian Trail, NC 28079, 704-283-3791, and is not staffed around the clock.
  • For a sentenced North Carolina state prisoner, probationer, or parolee, use the NCDAC offender search. It does not cover ordinary county-jail records.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP locator or ICE detainee locator, because those records are separate from Union County's jail system.
